Heart

It's time to announce a piece of news that will strike fear in the hearts of poets across the country: your humble correspondent is reproducing. The good news is that half of the clone is coming from Rachel. Yes, that's right, sportsfans, we're havin' a baby! Now that the first trimester is over, it's officially safe to say it, and yesterday, with the help of a Doppler, we heard the little critter's heartbeat, which was really freakin cool. Our baby is officially due July 21. Expect sappy baby poems to follow.

B'shaah Tova Zach! It means "in good time." Jews never say Mazel Tov until after the birth. All good wishes to you and Rachel.

Yah, congrats!

The best piece of advice I can offer to Rachel is to get just-for-her childcare one day a week, once baby is a little less desperately dependent. Say eight months or so...

Having done it myself, I know she'll appreciate having the TIME TO WRITE during that nutso first year.
